“The secret to Kourtney Kardashian’s glowy skin, slim body, grounded smile? (Besides stellar genes, that is!)
It’s her beloved Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, Leila Johnson.”

Natural Health Magazine (Sep/Oct Cover Story)

Ayurveda

Leila is considered the go-to “Celebrity Yoga & Ayurveda Instructor,”
(Haute Living) known for working along Hollywood’s busiest performers.

She is an Ayurvedic Chef & Traditional Foods Expert
(by way of The Natural Gourmet Institute, Martha Soffer and her Mother!),

and an Ayurvedic Specialist (American University of Complementary Medicine, California & The Vinayak Ayurvedic Research Center, India).

Her interviews, healthy recipes, and posts can be seen in such magazines as Natural Health, Fit Pregnancy, Haute Living, Masquerade, Hello! (UK Edition), Shape (Middle East Edition), Lifestyle and more.

Growing up three months per year in the wilderness of Canada with no electricity, running water or access by roads, Leila learned from a young age the “pure life,” garden vegetables, homemade meals, sustainability and the power nature & nurture.

Continuing to live a balanced & natural lifestyle as well connecting to the wild grace in everyday living is Leila’s love. She is passionate about personal sustainability and supporting women in their beautiful lives through food, movement, and natural remedies.

Yoga

In addition to her Ayurvedic expertise, Leila is a Certified Yoga Therapist, earning her certification from Loyola Marymount University (California) and the Trauma Center at JRI (Boston), Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Specialist, Khalsa Way Prenatal Yoga Teacher and Birth Doula.

Leila has helped create programs, retreats, awareness and advocacy in Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York, New Jersey, Ethiopia, Colombia, France and the Middle East, where she was based out of for some time.

She has been a presenter at the Middle Eastern Yoga & Ayurveda Conference, a guest host on the Emmy-Award Winning show The Doctors, and can been seen on a recurring basis teaching prenatal yoga therapy & cooking up alternative recipes in Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Leila discovered yoga during her time at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, when she was put in a back brace that was prescribed for 24/7 and potentially the following ten years. Through daily movement training in Alexandre Technique, dance & yoga, Leila realized the art of healing and moved beyond the brace only after one year.

Leila now lives in Manhattan, practices Transcendental Meditation and looks forward to the continued adventure of travel+work.
